On August 4th we came together to celebrate the successful completion of our D.C. Summer 2023 Internship Program. Each of our twenty-two participants presented to employer partners, BroadFutures staff, and supportive family and friends with brief remarks detailing what they learned this summer and what they look forward to achieving in the future.
This class made impressive strides in terms of cultivating workplace confidence, growing team building skills, and strengthening peer-to-peer connections. We congratulate them on this well-earned accomplishment and look forward to hearing about their future successes!
We also extend gratitude to our employer partners who made this summer possible by hosting our interns! And to our supportive parents, donors, and staff: we appreciate you and your dedication!!!

Another Thank You to All of Our
Summer 2023 Employer Partners!!!
We are so grateful to our amazing employer partners for helping us enjoy a successful summer full of growth and learning. It wouldn't have been possible without your commitment to our mission. Thank you!
This month we are shining the spotlight on Anelle Genfi! Anelle currently attends Montgomery College where she is majoring in General Studies in Social Science. Anelle is originally from Ghana and currently lives in Gaithersburg, Maryland.
This summer Anelle interned at Eagle Bank where she was most excited about "attending the relationship team meetings and the management loan committee meetings to learn [...] whether the bank should grant a loan to a potential client." When asked to reflect on the highlights of BroadFutures programming, Anelle shared, "My favorite part of the BroadFutures program has been the mock interviews and the yoga and mindfulness sessions."
Anelle is a thoughtful and compassionate person who brought such an insightful perspective to her peers and colleagues this summer. Though the Summer 2023 Program ended, we are thrilled to have her as part of our BroadFutures alumni community.
