Over the course of the past five weeks we have seen incredible growth from our Winter 2024 cohort. Each Friday, interns return to the BroadFutures office to discuss progress made and challenges encountered in the workplace. Through training facilitated by our awesome team, interns have continued developing their professional skills, working on perspective taking, and building a personal profile full of tools they will carry with them throughout their professional careers.
In addition to peer-to-peer learning and training with BroadFutures staff, our cohort has had the opportunity to hear from a number of motivated and highly engaging self-advocates. This month’s guest speakers included Booz Allen Hamilton’s Pat Woodward, Maddie Snodgrass from the Public Religion Research Institute, and Dominique Cytryn from Serco. We extend a sincere thank you to these talented professionals for sharing their lived experience with our cohort!
Our interns have made great progress in the first few weeks of their internships and we are so impressed by their growth. We cannot wait to see what the coming months hold!

Employer Spotlight - International Finance Corporation
This month we would like to thank, and welcome, our first-time employer partner, International Finance Corporation (IFC). IFC is a leading global development institution advancing economic growth, creating opportunities, and improving lives on an international scale.
Our partnership with IFC began in 2023 when our team delivered neurodiversity training to the IFC staff. Excited to continue making their workplace accessible, IFC then teamed up with us to host a BroadFutures intern for the first time this winter. Thank you IFC team, we are so grateful for this partnership!
Intern Spotlight - James Colwell
This month we’re shining the spotlight on Winter ‘24 participant, James Colwell! James lives in Bethesda, MD and is a recent graduate of Walter Johnson High School. This winter James is excited to be interning at IHG Hotels & Resorts.
When asked to reflect on his time at BroadFutures and IHG thus far, James shared he’s “most excited about building connections with [his] employer for future career opportunities […] and gaining work experience.” James’ thoughtful ideas and positive demeanor have brought so much to our Winter cohort. Keep up the good work James!
