Our Winter 2024 program is going wonderfully for both interns and employers! With only three more weeks left, participants have continued to make great progress in Friday training and at their internships. Through curriculum built and facilitated by our team, interns have worked on growing their understanding of perspective taking, interviewing skills, and how to be flexible in the workplace.
We were recently joined by our partner, Peter Williamson, from Game Genius. Peter delivered fun and engaging team building exercises that pushed our interns to think creatively and collaboratively. As part of our wellness curriculum we also welcomed back Shauna Simon, of Simon Says Yoga, to continue teaching yoga and mindfulness lessons. Sincere gratitude to all of our instructors for making programming possible!
We are beyond excited to see our Winter 2024 cohort’s continued growth! Stay tuned for more updates.
Congratulations to Our First Booz Allen Hamilton
Intern Cohort!
Our talented and dedicated Booz Allen Hamilton Intern cohort successfully completed their internships after an amazing eight weeks of working directly with the Booz Allen team and our BroadFutures, Inc. mentors and coaches. This cohort is the first class of their kind to go through our pilot program with Booz Allen Hamilton.
Each of the interns made great strides and achieved new heights in their professional skills and workplace preparedness. Thank you again Booz Allen Hamilton for your partnership and congrats to our graduating class!
Employer Spotlight
This month we would like to highlight our partnership with Atlas Performing Arts Center. Atlas is a leading theater venue dedicated to showcasing art, dance, music, film, and everything in between. Located at the center of H Street, Atlas is a cultural pillar of the D.C. art scene.
The Atlas team has partnered with us for several years now and is currently hosting two BroadFutures interns. When asked to reflect on our partnership thus far, Director of Operations, Jarrod Bennett shared, “Our collaboration with BroadFutures has been truly exceptional. We take immense pride in nurturing our interns' growth and witnessing them flourish into integral members of our Atlas team. Thank you for the opportunity to be part of such a rewarding journey.”
Thank you Atlas Performing Arts team. We value your partnership!

Women’s History Month Reflections
March was a celebratory month for many reasons! Both Neurodiversity Celebration Week and Women’s History Month uplifted the many voices of change makers in our community.
In recognition of Women’s History Month, our team sat down with Sam Martin, a guest on our 2023 Lived Experience Panel. Sam is a driven and passionate self-advocate and young professional who will be graduating from Gettysburg College this year with a degree in Political Science, Public Policy, and Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Sam interned at the National Women’s Political Caucus and Public Religion Research Institute here in DC.
In conversation with BroadFutures, Sam reflected on her experiences as a neurodivergent woman in the workplace. Her takeaway piece of advice for current and future interns was to, “Listen to what your brain needs. Every time you listen to your brain, you only grow stronger. You become a stronger individual, you become a stronger employee, you become a stronger student.”
Thank you, Sam, for sharing your experience and insightful words with us! Click the button below to read more.
