Despite the stormy and smoky weather, we were thrilled to welcome our program participants and their families, employer partners, donors and board members, who all showed up in high spirits to celebrate the upcoming kickoff of summer programs. It was a wonderful and fun evening as we all came together in gratitude for our BroadFutures community.
Thank you for supporting us. We look forward to celebrating with you again soon!
Summer 2023 Program is ON!!!!
After completing our initial training week, our summer cohort began their internships! This group of 23 inspired young people represent a diverse range of backgrounds and interests, coming from all over the US and united in their eagerness to grow as individuals and their motivation to succeed in the workplace. We are amazed by their strides so far and can't wait to see what else the summer holds.
Thank you so much for supporting our mission and making this possible! We look forward to continuing to partner with you throughout the summer.
Racial and Disability Justice Training
This month our staff had the privilege of engaging in a transformative 2 day disability and racial justice training professional development The Northwestern Law Center for Racial and Disability Justice and our fabulous facilitators Jamelia Morgan, Esq., and Jordyn Jensen. They challenged our team to think about how intersections of race, gender identity, and class might affect disability and reshape one's experience in the world.
Together we cultivated an open space for learning and developed new skills to approach our work at BroadFutures through a more informed and equitable lens. You can find more of Jamelia and Jordyn's work here or @NLawCRDJ.
A fond farewell to our Princeton University Fellows, Andy Latoni & Austin Colorite ....
It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to Austin Colorite and Andy Latoni. Austin and Andy, we are so grateful for the incredible impact you have made here during your time at BroadFutures. We will miss you terribly but are so excited for this next chapter in your professional careers. Don't be strangers and please stay in touch!
and a warm welcome to

We are thrilled to announce we received Grants from the HSC Pediatric Center and the Learning Disabilities Foundation of America!
Thank you so much to the HSC Pediatric Center for naming BroadFutures as one of your grant recipients! We are so thankful for your support. The HSC Pediatric Center is a rehabilitation and transition center for children. It is the only facility of its kind in the Washington, D.C. area. This grant helps support our internship stipends to ensure that all of our internships remain paid.
We also want to extend thanks to the Learning Disabilities Foundation of America for the recent grant we received to further our employer education around neurodiversity. The Learning Disabilities Foundation of America is a Non-Profit Trust that has supported charitable and educational services for people with learning disabilities since 1979. We are thrilled by their support!

This summer Alessandro is interning at DC Special Olympics . When asked to reflect on his experience Alessandro shared, "My favorite part of the program is how BroadFutures continuously addresses the barriers disabled people face and fight for diversity, equity, and inclusion."
